You know what? I think you are absolutely right. My so-called life is stuck in 2020, and I can't move on until I see what I most wanted to see at that time. I want to see our team succeed in getting lenz into the hands of doctors all over the world. There is nothing else more important to me. If I can somehow contribute to the placement of even one piece into the puzzle leading to our success, I'll likely never even know that I did. But perhaps my wife will somehow know that I at least tried. And I will feel a sense of accomplishment, deserved or not, and then maybe I can move on and enjoy what remains of my life. Maybe I'll even have the necessary financial ability to do so.
This drug has unparalleled potential in more ways than we can even know, until the beautiful minds of dedicated doctors and scientists begin to discover that potential. We might even obviate any reason to vaccinate 6 month old babies, (do we really want to do that, if an alternative becomes available?), and to close the rift that divides so many of us in regards to treatment.
Besides, I find this unfolding drama fascinating. I find the challenge worthy, and I need the mental engagement. I might piss people off, but I'm not hurting anybody, so I'll just continue on this path, and look forward to where it leads.
