I'm hoping IPIX can help in a big way, but let me share my experience as the spouse of a hospital leader. You are obviously not involved in healthcare to make such a statement. Hospitals are over-run with Covid patients, and over 90% of them are unvaccinated. Of those, there are many that have zero co-morbidities. My wife told me how she was rounding the other night to see how nurses were coping, and one of her stops was at the ECMO unit (there are those here that can explain what ECMO stands for and what it does for patients), EDIT, here is what my wife says about ECMO "ECMO is where you go if we are losing you to Covid and need to remove your blood from your body to oxygenate it to rest your lungs."
ECMO is the last hope, and unfortunately, the last stop for many. Keep in mind, my wife is a patient, kind, caring, compassionate human (totally opposite of me), and when she asked the nurse what can we (administration) do to help, the nurse looked at her and pointed to a young 20 something's room and with tears in her eyes said tell me how to save her. Zero co-morbidities they were aware of, and those stories go on and on. Another nurse in the same unit said, "yeah there is something you can do, tell people to get the damn vaccine", because the people who are dying are in many cases young non-vaccinated people. This is reality, real stuff in US hospitals now. This not political, this is real.
