Oh come on! This gig is just that, a money gig. It should have been wrapped up weeks ago if not months. Who ever is conducting this audit is milking it for everything its worth and more. Since its been labeled as "unknown, never done before", they're probably billing on a hourly + material basis. They can draw this out as long as they want! Holidays are a phycological bench mark that agencies in this situation try to leverage. If Novas had any business sense in his head, he'd call them out on this and give them notice and let them know this has to wrap up last week. If not, he's calling in a consultant to review their work as to the progress of their findings. This is not China, Russia, Cuba, etc. Get off your lazy rear end and take action here. Peoples money is in limbo here. Do something positive for once, "make things right".
