ASTS- Valid question, my current understanding and interpretation *may not be factual* is that ASTS wants to develop a broadband network where locations outside of traditional towers can have a broadband internet connection. Different from Global Sat that currently only allows for texts, emails, and calls on their sat phones. So my understanding is that if Global Sat integrates with the new iphone as mentioned in recent news the iphone would be able to make sat calls anywhere in the world but may not have an internet connection without a traditional land based connection. Global sat's current 27 sats may not have the bandwidth for broadband network abilities as ASTS's new sats in development would and IMO that would eliminate them as a competitor in exact market.

The quote "AST SpaceMobile is building the first, and only, global broadband cellular network in space to operate directly with mobile devices." Is from their website https://investors.ast-science.com/

I have submitted a direct inquiry with the companies for a definitive answer. Will post when I hear something.
