Concerning gastrointestinal conditions, a proof-of-concept study has been completed successfully evaluating Brilacidin's immunomodulatory properties in treating Distal Colitis, and a Phase 1 clinical trial showing oral Brilacidin could be delivered to the gut to potentially treat Ulcerative Colitis.

They backed off further trials for lack of money not because it wasn't a viable oral treatment.
