If that is true, it's only because of the statistical relation to market price activity on those days that might cause more accounts to exceed acceptable margin ratio.

i.e. options expiration on Fridays can cause higher than normal price movement. Same can go for Mondays when naked ITM calls have to be covered with new shares purchased in the open market.
