You nailed the bare essence of it all. Why I stay silent and maybe why he does too.

The market is pricing it as if he lied.

So, he gets it done and the price rallies at some point.
Or he lied or he couldn't get it done for whatever reason, we go into the abyss.

So it leaves a person 3 choices:

Buy more now until one can't.
Hold what one has already and ride it out.
Sell and move on.
