I am a spectator at this message board, but I could hardly breath when
you mentioned yuan being backed by gold. here is my take: every single
fiat currency would have to lose 95% - 99% in order to be backed by
gold (even the swiss franc). will gold standard ever come back? tough
to know as it will initially be catastrophic for a very large portion
of the population (and for politicians whose legacies will not be
admired any more), but if it that standard came back the Chinese
society would implode in a short while.
