Good Grief, talk about false equivalences, the Sackler family did not make billions off of pain treatment for end of life pain management. The problem in the U.S. is not terminally ill patients becoming addicted or over dosing.

Generic opioids should not be the mainstay of acute pain control in modern medicine. Posted this many times and you don't seem to want to hear it but it has been medically established that acetaminophen and ibuprofen is not just as effective for treating extreme acute pain, but more effective.

Many people have become addicted to opioids just by using the drugs prescribed to them. Doctors over prescribed opioids in the 90s and 2000s because they listened to the sales pitches the drug representatives gave them. They did have the excuse that back then there didn't have a substitute for them but now that it is common knowledge ibuprofen and acetaminophen are awesome for acute pain there is no excuse for a doctor declaring "Generic opioids are the mainstay of acute pain control in modern medicine." in 2021. It reflects a lack of understanding of the risk of opioids and a failure to keep up to date with current recommended practices.
