HPIL: Ludicrously WRONG! An alternator DOES NOT "converts some of the energy the engine gets from the stored chemical energy in the fuel to recharge the battery".

Alternators are a type of generator driven by a belt from the engine of a car - NOT "stored chemical energy in the fuel"!

They use an electromagnet/rotor in order to boost output of electric current. The electricity is alternating current - its direction of flow changes back and forth every time the rotor turns.

Not understanding how or why something exists or functions does not make it bogus!

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that bees should be able to fly because it's believed their wings are too small to get their fat little bodies off the ground.

Yet the bees know better and fly anyways, gathering the best harvest, while not caring what some humans believe is possible or impossible!

I imagine Stephen Brown, L. Ferrox Tutinean, and the Apogee D7 team at HPIL feel the same!
