I can see why if you read the description of these jobs being on call 24\7. That is a big responsibility of time. Kind of like being a surgeon for a trauma unit, but with a lot less pay. As far a employees I think many of these jobs can be taught with a bit of training and most non union states have access to large talent pools also with numerous Universities and junior colleges.
