Will we?

Yes. Considering COVID restrictions in Vietnam are the only reason we haven't produced this year and most of last year.

Here are my predictions for our competitors:

Bolt Threads: They will fully pivot to their mushroom leather. It's a pretty cool tech with a niche market, at least for a while. Unfortunately, they don't own the tech. They have a non-exclusive license to use it from a company called Ecovative. If the tech does become popular, Ecovative will just license it to the big players. This probably isn't what Bolt Thread VCs were hoping for.

AMSILK: They will probably go out of business. They have been trying to mass produce spider silk analogs through fermentation the longest out of anyone. They may stick around with silk protein for cosmetics (maybe Bolt too), but that will be niche.

Spiber: They might be the most successful of the 3 competitors. But it won't be in spider silk. They are building a large fermentation plant. They will likely become a CDMO. This could serve different proteins to the biotech industry. It's a good gig, but they will be competing with thousands of companies that do what they do, but better, and have been doing it for much longer.

Kraig Labs is the only one that will make spider silk fibers with desired properties. Randy Lewis is the wild card, but I have reason to believe that he still may be working (at least somewhat) with KBLB.
