TORONTO, Jan. 26 /CNW/ - Dr. Gene Shelp, President of ENPAR Technologies Inc. (ENPAR) is pleased to announce that the Company has signed an exclusive Distributor and Sales Representative agreement with Mackenzie Environmental Solutions Inc. of Yellowknife, NWT. Mackenzie has been granted the rights to market, sell and utilize ENPAR's state-of-the-art electrochemical technologies for treating ammonia (AmmEL System), arsenic and metals (DesEL System) and nitrate (NitrEL System). Applications include municipal waste water, mine water and other industrial waste waters, as well as drinking water. The area of coverage encompasses the NWT, the Mackenzie River Watershed, northern sections of BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as Nunavut.
Mackenzie Environmental Solutions Inc, is owned by Denendeh Investments Inc. (DII) and is the general partner of MacKenzie Environmental Solutions LP. DII is owned by the Denendeh Development Corporation, a private company owned 100% by the Dene of the NWT. DII is active in a number of business sectors, including oil and gas, public utilities, communications services and traditional arts. It promotes development of the region's natural resources in an environmentally-responsible manner.
The relationship between DII and ENPAR will offer solutions to existing and future water contamination problems such as ammonia, arsenic, metals, and potentially radionuclides.
Dr. Shelp stated, "We look forward to working closely with DII's CEO Mr. Darrell Beaulieu and Mackenzie's senior officers, Mr. Don Balsillie, Mr. Jim Antoine and Mr. Roman Bittman, to address numerous outstanding water issues".
Mr. Darrell Beaulieu was previously the Chief of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation for approximately 10 years, and has extensive experience in various aspects of mineral exploration in the NT. Mr. Don Balsillie is also a former Chief with the Deninu K'ue First Nation in Fort Resolution, NT, and is now a founding director of Deze Energy Corporation.
Mr. Jim Antoine was a member of the NWT Legislature between 1991 and 2003. He was elected the 8th Premier of NWT in 1998 and resided in that office during the creation of Nunavut from the eastern half of the NWT. Mr. Bittman, who in his teens was a founder of radio station CFHR in Hay River, NWT is a former producer of the CBC's highly rated television program, The Nature of Things and Interim CEO and Executive Producer of the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards and is currently Chairman and CEO of Red Maple Energy Inc.
