Forest River are one of the largest manufacturers of shuttle buses so instead of putting an ICE engine into the bus they will install a powertrain supplied by Lightning motors in the forest River factory.

saves dedicating space at ZEV facility as well as the logistics of shipping almost complete buses to have the engine installed.

I am sure the initial trials were done by conversions which is what a lot of them have been. ZEV is moving more now to taking the chassis from Ford or whoever and fitting out the complete van (see DHL video), but this is a far better approach saving time money and space.

ZEV also install FCEV especially for longer distance vehicles and bigger loads using a similar conversion model
