The Black Eye
A scarlet letter
The world did give,
Forgiveness fell right
Through the sieve.
With intentions
That went bent,
Its purpose packed
Its bags and went,
With consequence
Did anger vent.
You missed the mark
And blacked the eye,
The human judge
Of justice died.
A wrong turn
Leads to a dead end,
With human emotions
The curve begins,
And spins
Us in a dizzy wind,
Of misplaced hatred,
Human sin.
