Data from Gibraltar and Iceland support the benefit of vaccinations. There is a new surge of cases in Gibraltar but it is only 25 cases per day, 20% of the case rate at the peak in early January. Presumably the recent increase in cases reflects the new delta variant. ZERO DEATHS since early January.
Iceland also has a sudden increase in cases, averaging around 100 new cases per day but only ONE DEATH since the end of 2020. Vaccination is very effective in preventing severe disease and hospitalization.
