This is a never ending trend. Many come make a profit then leave and disappear. Time passes they come back again hope and hype encouraging words because something is happening with the ticker again it goes up they make a profit then leave again. Then they come back again hope, hype make a _________, you get the point. Do your DD look at the PPS look at data look at time lines and watch the trends. When the shorts move on they will eventually come back as interest sparks again but the longs usually remain guarding the tickers for the shorts to make their profits again as the loyal well behaved longs remain holding the bag for them over and over again.
