A cure for Covid is worth much more IMO.

Of course it is! I wouldn't take a 1.43 buyout after successful results are unveiled. I would take it before we find out if the drug works or not. The risk of going back to 0.05 on failure motivates this.

Take something that has relative value like Moderna and compare

Anyone comparing this to Moderna will be disappointed. Moderna is forecasting $18B in 2021 vaccine sales for itself. Pfizer is forecasting about $26B for their vaccine.

Remdesivir, the biggest therapeutic, is pulling $2-2.5B.

Vaccines are much more lucrative and they are much more assured income. Hundreds of millions of people will line up for boosters even if COVID is minimized. Therapeutic revenue will be minimized significantly if COVID is.

That's not to say there aren't tremendous gains for IPIX coming if it works. Part of the value prospect of IPIX is that it has a $100M market cap instead of a $2-3B market cap. That's an extra 20-30x built in to the profit structure.
