Does my username say Nostradamus?

You're asking someone who can't predict when to buy or sell a 3¢ stock to predict when the US legislature will not only vote on a highly controversial bill, but vote to approve it?

Pressure is clearly building to change MJ laws. The Surgeon General coming out in support of decriminalization was an unexpected and welcome surprise.

At this stage, with 19 states plus Washington D.C. and Guam having legalized MJ in one form or another, plus many states now expunging MJ convictions, it's irrational and unjustifiable for the federal government to carry on pretending that cannabis is a dangerous, Schedule 1 drug and that anyone who touches or even thinks about it needs to be locked away for the sake of humanity.

It's also ludicrous for the feds to continue prohibiting financial institutions from serving cannabis companies that provide BILLIONS of tax dollars to 38% of the states.

As of May 2021, states reported a combined total of $7.9 billion in tax revenue from legal, adult-use marijuana sales.

They can't put the genie back in the bottle. What are they gonna do, send armed militias to each of those regions to raid every grower, every edibles manufacturer, every producer of THC/CBD products, and every dispensary? Not on Joe Biden's watch!

When legal options for acquiring cannabis are eliminated, what do you think happens to the black market? Remember Prohibition? No one but criminals gain in that scenario, while governments, schools, infrastructure, social programs etc. are the big losers because many now depend on cannabis revenue to fill their coffers and fund their programs.

If enough Republicans sign on to support a bipartisan bill to legalize cannabis, perhaps it could make its way to the Senate floor late next year.

Bar X should be producing copious amounts of weed by then, and even if not legal, hopefully the Safe Banking Act will have passed.
