Doug- as a counter to this article please note USA Rare Earths purchased Hitachi's old magnet factory & equipment in North Carolina & intend to go forward with a mine to magnet strategy. Having already invested & owning an 80% stake in the Round Top Project in Tx. & taking on a small position in Search Minerals.

Although magnets have not been produced in the U.S. in quite some time, I think it this video is misleading in that it does not present all the FACTS, just an opinion.(In fact U.S. Bain capitals purchase of Hitachi metals is mentioned in the video??) Keep an eye on NEO performance, Materion, USA-RE, Hitachi Metals (now in partial U.S. hands as they now own all intellectual property & patents) even MP materials in time....
It won't take more than 5 years to reboot IMHO on a few of the above projects for the U.S.
