As for conversion, if it is common to common shares and there is no lock out period, then many will go for. But if it is common to prefd. and often either they’re not tradeable right away or there is a lock out period, then most smart traders do not choose conversion as they don’t want to get stuck, no matter what.

So they have to clarify whether it is common for common and whether there is any lock out period, which is normally two years.
