Luke 9:3-5
New King James Version
3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.

4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

As I read this, I got curious concerning the church of today. I know we are to love our neighbor, feed and assist others, and all the other Christians acts which we are called to perform....so--how does this fit in? "The part about shaking the dust off of your feet and move on." If our efforts are poured out on those who reject the Gospel, and we continue the same process over & over , time after time and the message is constantly rejected, how do we respond? Good question, I do not have the answer.......I say the message because so much of Christian efforts are built around works which man does, feed the homeless, school supplies for kids, clothing for the poor, open house dinners, assistance in rent, the list goes on & on. So, if these things are considered spreading the gospel but the gospel of Jesus Christ is rejected----HUMMMM !! Are we actually sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ or are we sharing the Kindly woks of mankind. Way back years ago, when my business was successful and $$$$ was no issue, I did a lot through my church and Sunday school class---then one day I awoke to the fact that it was not God doing anything, all things were done by & through me, "SEE I DID", I got tons of credit from the Church & S.S. Class and pride stepped in----then one day I woke up. Experience is the best teacher by far and I have no problem sharing my experiences if it helps another not to make my mistakes. I am not judging the church and their actions, but when listening to the explanations of their good deeds, I have often heard the message of "see what we are doing", not see what God is doing. Shake the dust off your feet and move on? That is a hard pill to swallow....The focus has to be on the "Gospel of Jesus Christ"---not on the works which we do

Good thinking material here....God Bless
