I believe "the left" administration actually leaves the stem cell door open far wider than any conservative Republican one. If one could successfully lobby the BRTX case and others to congress, things could really change -although unlikely. (1) It supports our basic human rights in regard to ownership of our own cells (bipartisan), (2) it significantly reduces the cost of expensive surgeries (Dems) and (3) we are 15 years behind China in stem cell research and its applications(bipartisan).

A key factor to consider long term is the AMA and its powerful lobby in DC. If BRTX-100 were to be finally FDA approved, it would significantly disrupt the spinal surgery field over time. The more successful the clinical trial(s), prove to be, the less likely that politics will influence final approval.

But then again think of all those poor surgeons that would be begging for change in the street.
