Thanks DallyB for that perspective. Most of my diving has been hookah river gold dredging like Gold Rush Whitewater. My dad was in very early days of SCUBA, dove with Ed Brawley who started the first SCUBA school for instructors. Anyone from old SF will know the third diving buddy, Don Sherwood, #1 disc jockey and the toast of SF at that time. So was around it a great deal, just too young to ocean dive.

I did get a low level SCUBA rating so could dive Cabo Pulmo on a trip. Got lucky that day had maybe 500 safe Pacific barracuda create a silver cylinder around me maybe 20 feet high and 10 feet wide circling me it was wild.

But for gold mining the cost and hassle of SCUBA make it very very rare. I would stay down 8-10 hours a day. BUT with a gas engine on top. The portability of Nemo and Nomad has never existed before.

If you want to see some great river gold diving, this is my favorite segment

If anyone needs to blow something up that is s SierraBlaster, have one, used it just like they do above and below water.
