When I want a stock, I usually start shopping for puts to sell short finding a strike price net of premium I wouldn't mind owning it at. If the contract strike never gets touch at expiry, I pocket the premium for a 100% gain. If the stock closes even one cent below strike, the shares are assigned and my basis is computed as Strike - Premium at Sell to Open = Basis.
