Paul, if you did do "The Ask" price; the price has been running up...and you're chasing the price. Meaning, while you place "The Ask" price in...and orders are getting filled; THE PRICE MOVES UP AGAIN. You need to make the decision how high up you are willing to pay. Many times, the price will settle back down, but who knows. This is the risk you take either way. Some people, when it runs up...if they don't want to miss out...if they are in fear that the price will not go down...and just want to get a position in a stock...will go an increment above the "Ask" (in this case a penny)...but I am not telling you what to do. It's your money. Again, normally the price settles down after a big day like this. Then again, the run can continue tomorrow. Who knows.
