Don't get me wrong. I dislike Steinbrenner for many reasons and the way he treats people is probably number one on the list although I think he has mellowed a bit over the years.
It sure is nice to have an owner who wants to win and will open his wallet to see that he can get good players.
The Yankees also have many that are home grown.....Jeter, Pettite, Bernie, to name a few.
Many disagree with this, but IMO George is a good businessman. He spends money to make money. The attendance at Yankee stadium is over 3 million for the last couple of years because people will pay to see a good team.
Those are my thoughts and I'm sticking with them!!!!
