Doc thanks - and just between you and me - if I had squirts - I'd probably haul them around in something bigger than a Tercel too. But why? Because of all the other giant vehicles. It's like - if you're wearing a .22 and everyone else is packing .357's, well I guess you gotta upgrade.
But most of the SUVs I see are empty except for the driver - and sometimes a passenger. And I look - a lot. Obsessively. OK, I'm weird. But I look because SUV drivers are very defensive - they're always talking about how they need the space. And they all have the cute little white cut-outs on the back window of all the family members, including a dog - kinda like saying - Hey, I'm hauling precious cargo - so if I crash into you and kill you because you're driving something reasonably small, it's OK, cuz - "hey, it's just me protecting my family."
But the reality is, most of the time, it's just one or two folks in these monsters.
