I have for years worked on this Passage in Scripture, I even gave a Sunday Morning Service on what I thought this to be, Now years later I still find myself searching and for the last week I have been daily searching and think maybe this morning I started to understand--I'll not cut and paste the Scripture but sort of divide the thoughts up......

Romans 7: starting in verse 15

"For what I am doing---I do not understand
For what I will to do---That I do not practice
But what I hate,--- that I do
IF then I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law-- that is good
BUT NOW, it is no longer I who do it,----but sin that dwells in me.
For I know that that in me nothing good dwells
FOR TO WILL is present with me----BUT--how to preform what is good I do not find
FOR the good I will to do----I do not do
BUT--the evil I will not to do---that I practice
NOW--IF I do what I will not to do---it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

I find then a law, that evil is present with me----the one who wills to do good.
FOR I delight in the law of God according to the inward man
BUT--- I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind----and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members

O wretched man that I am!----Who will deliver me from this body of death?----I thank God---through Jesus Christ our Lord!! "

Over the years I found comfort knowing that Paul, a GREAT CHRISTIAN really struggled with right and wrong in his life. Something I believe each of us can identify with- It is like inside of each of us we have that with wants to right, but then we also have that inside of us which want to party and follow the crowd. Anyway, sometimes we just don't understand ourselves and what we do.
IF I may, over in 1st Thessalonians 5:23 Paul writes "May your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless"----Then in Hebrews 4:12 Paul writes " For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper that any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart".....

Sometimes in Scripture SOUL & SPIRIT are interchangeable ---yet in other passages in Scripture there is a distinction observed. As I understand the distinction between the two is that the SPIRIT is that which knows and Is capable of God-consciousness and communication with God----where as the SOUL is the seat of the affections, desires, emotions and the will of man.

NOW!!! The above understanding of this subject is greatly divide amongst the different interpreters of Scripture. I have always believed that when it comes to understanding Scripture one needs to ask God for understanding and direction----where He leads---follow.

OK !! Something here to think on and maybe help some with the day to day struggles of life
God Bless
