Solving Applet Launcher launch problems

Deja vu of extension conflicts. Apple Support narrowed it down to a conflict in my user/library/preferences. In other words, Applet Launcher works fine in a new account. But to find the culprit in 'my account' I need to move the existing Preference folder to the desktop, re-start, and then add preferences back until it breaks. Thus, I will find the preference stopping Applet Launcher from launching.
