He's not part of the founders team..and he wasn't awarded any shares by the co yet.. maybe he will later in the future but none for now..

I am sure they have some other compensation arrangements.
as far as why he did not get any with his own money?.. some people are not stock investors at all.. they prefer some other ways managing their own $$
