While this is somewhat good news for the Cali Legal Cannabis industry as a whole, it is not good news for Livewire and doesn't help us at all, now that we're already through the CEQA analysis process.
Bill H. has already spent a huge amount of time, effort and $$$ to successfully complete the CEQA analysis, and as a result, we currently enjoy a significant First-Mover advantage.
Subsidizing Local Municipalities so they can assist businesses in going through the CEQA analysis quicker, cheaper and easier will only erode our advantage, resulting in more competition, sooner than we anticipated.
While the Cannabis market in Cali may support more competition, we certainly don't want it...
Hopefully, because Cali's bureaucracy moves at a snail's pace, it will take a year or so for the grants to kick in and we'll have free reign to get out in front of the competition.
The only way that Livewire could benefit from this would be for Bill H. to utilize Livewire's experience of acquiring our Licenses and Permits, and offer it in a Consulting type capacity to businesses currently going through the process...
