It never ceases to amaze me as to how little I know concerning Scripture and I have been at it since 1990 and still dumb as a rock. Well maybe not so harsh, a rock may be a little ahead of me....

Hebrews 2:1 speaks of drifting away---over the years I often have thought of drifting away like maybe a boat became untied at the dock and slowly it just drifted away and then lost somewhere down the river and I also thought of drifting away as as gradually getting off course and missing my destination----suppose you take a compass and head to "X" marks the spot, but then you get off course, say, 2 or 3 degrees, you may be off just a tad bit, but the end results is that you totally miss your destination---and my 3rd thought---now you , may not be familiar with firearms, but, extend your right arm, then extend your index finger and point at an object, say 20 or 30 yards away, now just "BARELY" move that finger, just a tinny bit, and see, you have just missed your target------NOW!! I hope I got your attention, so go now and read Mark 4: 3-20, about the sower and the seeds and try your best to tie in with drifting away, it is there, I had a hard time understanding, then BINGO it popped in & I got it. Might also think on "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." (Mark 4:9)-------a slice of info from my John MacAurthur Study Bible ----"On the surface this is a call for the listener to be attentive and decree the meaning of His analogy. Yet more that human understanding is necessary to interpret the parable----only those who have been redeemed will have the meaning explained to them".

We do not have to be the sharpest knife in the drawer to understand Scripture, but it necessary that we have a relationship with God to understand Scripture, Understanding is not something a person can do on their own, understanding Scripture comes from God, not from man---Man may point us in the right direction, but the Holy Spirit teaches us and if I--YOU--or THEY do not pay attention to the Holy Spirit"s teaching, we start to "drift away"-------Just a passing thought, do not let someone misguide you and get you off course, just because a very well educated person says this or that does not make it gospel, sometimes it may be a wolf in sheeps clothing----"learn" to trust in the Holy Spirit

God Bless and have a great day----raining here, but I appreciate any day this side of the green. Rain does not make one have a bad day, one's attitude makes for a bad day
