yep that is true. If they introduce serial# or ID# for stocks like what we have on dollar bills or VIN# for a car or house property address. We do not really own anything. What scares me, is what if they wipe out the computer memory of my broker's computer that says I have these number of shares for this stock and that stock. How do I prove I have these unique shares if I did not make a photo copy of my account status on a regular basis. Its not like I own a bar of silver or gold that I can put under my mattress. Its physical and I can touch it.
If they introduce serial # for stocks, it will be easy to say I own these unique shares. We can better keep track of the movement of the shares as they are traded because the serial# will follow the trace movement the stock. They we can get full transparency on many things that we can't do now. We could tell from the volume counts how many of its elements are buys and or sells. So we can better determine the bullish/bearish movement of the stock. Etc.
