I have no idea how many times this old poem has entered my mind----it holds so much truth, I believe. As you read give some serious thought to it and does this apply to your life

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

NOW!!!! You want to rack your brain? I have two well respected Bible resources I use often....one says one thing-- the other says the opposite ----Both are excellent reference material and both can chase you all over Scripture seeking the right answer.....I believe all answers come from & through the Holy Spirit---if you should go seeking the correct answer, and I do not think either answer is 100% right or 100% wrong. I believe your heart will teach you what it is you need to understand. One point, the Scripture is not contradicting itself, it is the difference of opinions of the authors making an interpretation, that is why it is so important that before reading and studying Scripture that we take a moment and ask for divine guidance ---my opinion here----when the Holy Spirit teaches us something, that is what we go with, not saying another is wrong, jus saying that the Holy Spirit teaches me what I need to know to live a good life....Anyway,, the Scriptures I am speaking of are:

1 Thessalonians 5:23
New King James Version
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4: 12
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Now the subject is "soul & Spirit"....some believe they are identically the same,-- others say they are 2 different identities , but also this other resource states that "Soul & Spirit" are at times interchangeable. Both very respected resources back up of their opinions with their opinions of other Scripture......AND to me this why we need Divine guidance and we need to listen to the Holy Spirit. I suppose the 1st thing is that we need to have a relationship with God, without that-- my,-- your,-- their opinion-- is just hog-wash

God Bless
