By the way ~ the hotel in the photo on the "Intro" that you see is the Grand Hotel. It was totally constructed in 93 days. It opened July 10th in 1887. It was built by the Grand Rapids & Indiana and the Michigan Central Railroads along with the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company through the efforts of Sen. Francis B. Stockbridge. It is built of Michigan white pine. It's magnificent colonial porch is the longest in the world.

The picture of the sea below is one I took while sitting at a picnic bench just outside of British Landing. It is Lake Huron. It was fun to see how the sun seemed to reveal a glittering walkway to the mainland. That, of course, is Michigan.
