uber you obviously have never been a business owner as you are still having a tough time understanding how taxes work......there is a difference between taxes paid and taxes collected and remitted to the government, or as in rontan's case taxes collected but never remitted.....the ad valorem taxes you talk about (google is a wonderful tool makes one seem so knowledgeable) is a tax paid on assessed value such as property tax to the municipality.....do you know what happens when you do not pay your ad valorem taxes such as property taxes, your property is seized and sold to satisfy the outstanding property tax bill.....we know rontan still has possession of their plant so their ad valorem taxes must have been paid.....when a coffee maker is purchased there are certain state and federal taxes added to the purchase price that must be paid at time of purchase or one doesnt get to take the coffee maker home....have you ever walked into a a car dealership and said to the salesman i will buy that blue car but do not charge me the taxes as i will remit them on my own, that is what you are stating......rontan acts as an agent for the government and has collected various taxes that were to be remitted to the government but they never did, that is how their outstanding tax bill accumulated....the largest component of any of the taxes paid by a corporation is income taxes, not employee taxes or sales taxes as rontan has been very profitable they owed these income taxes but never paid them....so if one collected all these taxes but never remitted the cash then where did the money go?????
