"On July 1 the DMC will have collected data on the final 60-day endpoint for at least 84 subjects (more than 2/3 of the trial)."

Not sure how much it matters but 30 of those 84 will have been "treated" under the 3 day protocol and the rest the 5 day. Will be interesting whenever the results are in to see if the data is broken out for the 3 day group and if the different dosage periods mattered. (A trial within the trial.)

Anyway, assuming a 50/50 b+SOC and placebo+SOC split that would mean there were 27 patients treated with b under the 5 day protocol whose data could be assessed. Not much of a sample size.
That said, waiting until August would "only" increase that number to 45. Given those numbers, which seem small to me, it may make sense to wait for the data from the full 120 participants before reaching any conclusions...unless the DMC sees something extraordinary before then. I suspect that if that were the case we would know already and it's a point that has been made before. After all, they do call it a Data MONITORING Committee.

I'm tryin ta think but nuttin happens......Curly
