I sense that the collective energy and daring thoughts here could be inspirational for some WSB (WallStreetBets) fans and perhaps drive diamond hand buy/hold interest on these LEH debt instruments.
I'm not a knight in shining armor riding in to save the day. But I really feel sympathy for many of you who appear to have devoted more than 10 years on this. I believe the potential of another eye-popping unexplainable price rise in Lehman-related securities similar to GME.
Personally, I'd jump on such a bandwagon (by buying and holding shares in Lehman CTs for example) that protest how all the banking scoundrels that lawyered up after fleecing main street and only got a slap on the hand, if any punishment at all.
If I were to summarize:
1. Lehman management got caught up in leveraging too much in the subprime mortgage market that collapsed which led to the 08 global financial crisis.
2. A lot of investors in Lehman got hurt when the banking behemoth lost its liquidity and declared bankruptcy.
3. For more than a decade, assets have gone to payoff senior debtors armed with attorneys. It's unclear whether at this point everything is kosher (perhaps it is but it's been so drawn out and draped with legalese that your average person can't make any sense of it. * I can't at least and won't pretend by trying.
I made a little bit of money on GME and Dogecoin. Others like me are eager to identify what the next meme trade might be. Personally, I like the idea of lehman-walking-dead securities (e.g. the 4 Lehman CTs) as a haunting reminder to those who cheated the world then (and even now) that we, little guys and gals, are no longer helpless and have the memory of elephants.
Forget playing the legal gain against the powers that be. We need a simple and powerful MEME image of an attacking half decomposed zombie wearing a tattered LEHMAN t-shirt. Caption: "YOU WILL NEVER BURY US. LEHNQ, LEHKQ, LEHLQ, LEHNQ to the moon (followed by rocketship + middle finger emojis)"
---- or something of the sort :)
