So if more shares are bought of an individual stock, the price of the index increases, and if more shares are sold of an individual stock, the price decreases .

Kinda like exactly what was said from the getgo, individual stocks affect index. Lol thanks.

Index is moved by the value of the individual stocks listed in it.
