In a stampede, it's always the little guy that gets trampled. We need our investments to be protected from scandal just as do the big hedge funds but they have the means to fight the corruption and we do not have such means. The SEC is suppose to protect out interests but I have to ask if it even exists anymore because I haven't heard the SEC mentioned in forever.

So we are stuck with conservatorships that are going to conserve us to death. Now that I think of it, that was probably one of many contingencies to make the scandal work.
