Yes $3,000 is nice until your silent partners Uncle Sam and your state take their share. I always like to take the amount out I owe in my head so that I know what I actually will be taking home from every investment.

Last year for me, they got 40%. This year I’m paying in quarterly installments so the end of the year won’t be brutal.
