As I mentioned before - I thought the use of leronlimab in the Philippines was the "acid test" for the efficacy of leronlimab with COVID-19. It was initially exciting to hear the successful treatment results first reported. These were entirely out of the potential interference of Pro/Con folks in the USA. The success of the first Leronlimab treatments were very encouraging, but then there was a drought of further information.
Now we see further affirmation of the power of leronlimab to save lives. If the results had been marginal - the Philippines would not have considered any kind of approval or even a CSP, but their actions now strongly reinforce my positive outlook on the future of the drug.
Further, I strongly suspect some influential Filipinos are envisioning further ways to make the CytoDyn/Chiral/Philippine connection a win/win/win situation. This is why I mentioned Medical Tourism. They've been involved all along and are probably envisioning a growing opportunity. Tourism represents 1/8 of the Philippines' GDP and Medical Tourism, in the time of Covid, has GROWTH potential. Our FDA's failure to grant an EUA to Leronlimab further makes their country a target destination, especially as other indications will gradually come into play.
