Time Finance CEO on Q3 update: record lending & growth to resilient small businesses

OKYO Pharma achieves key stability milestone for Urcosimod in clinical development

The company has successfully demonstrated that urcosimod—formerly known as OK-101—remains stable for more than two and a half years in single-use ampoules, which are used for patient administration. Urcosimod is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2b clinical trial, which is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-masked study involving 48 patients. The trial is focused on assessing the drug’s effectiveness in treating neurotrophic keratopathy (NCP), a serious and progressive degenerative eye disease. Jacob emphasized that achieving success in clinical development extends beyond obtaining positive clinical trial data. A crucial aspect of regulatory approval includes meeting the rigorous Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) requirements set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). By demonstrating long-term stability, OKYO Pharma has strengthened its regulatory submission package, addressing an essential factor in the drug’s future approval and commercialization. The company recently completed Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) stability assay testing of single-use ampoules containing urcosimod in an ophthalmic solution. The results were highly promising—ampoules stored under refrigerated conditions maintained stability for over two and a half years, while initial three-month data from samples stored at room temperature showed potency levels at or above 100%. These findings reinforce confidence in urcosimod’s shelf life and its potential for real-world clinical use. Arc Minerals expands portfolio with acquisition of Chingola Copper Project in Zambia

Arc Minerals Limited (AIM:ARCM) executive chairman Nick von Schirnding and chief operating officer Vassilios Carellas joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with details of the company’s latest acquisition—the Chingola Copper Project in Zambia. Von Schirnding highlighted that the project is located in the northeast of the Zambian Copper Belt, an area known for high-grade copper deposits. The site is less than 30km from major existing operations, including Vedanta’s Nchanga Mine and Moxico Resources’ Mimbula Mine. He described the acquisition as strategic, adding that Arc Minerals has been pursuing it for 18 months due to its high prospectivity. Carellas detailed the financial terms of the deal, explaining that Arc Minerals has committed an initial $75,000, with milestone-based payments tied to drilling and resource confirmation. Ananda Pharma adds former GW Pharmaceuticals executive as strategic advisor, advances MRX1

Ananda Pharma Plc finance director Jeremy Sturgess-Smith talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the appointment of Chris Tovey as a strategic advisor. Tovey brings significant experience from his time as chief operating officer at GW Pharmaceuticals and later Jazz Pharmaceuticals. According to Sturgess-Smith: “He’s going to bring all that experience to Ananda,” helping guide the company through its regulatory path and corporate development. Sturgess-Smith also touched on Ananda securing ethics approval to begin its first human trial of MRX1, a key milestone for the company’s therapeutic pipeline. He noted this was the first ethics approval of its kind for any Ananda trial, with recruitment expected to begin shortly in Australia. “It’s very, very exciting to have that ethics approval in the bag,” he said.
