I think they do it in the hopes somebody places a market order when they're drunk at night. Buys too. It works too. I sold 300k of a stock that was at 0001 for 0034. I had a good until cancel order in for months and it went through so either someone was manipulating or just plain stupid but I got almost all my investment back when it was worth 3 dollars in reality.
Basically it's just mm's and their games.
