Still a lot of variants manifesting in other countries, and right now vaccination is just a stop gap to slow the spread. Preliminary studies suggested sbfm-pl4 could be a variant resistant treatment. Obviously still a ways to go to get there, but there are also still plenty of people not interested in taking a vaccine that the FDA won't officially approve. Remember they only authorize the use of vaccines, but they've got a ways to go to get official approval, and a pill treatment that stops replication is a much stronger play to return normalcy to the world. Even just getting approved for FDA fast track phase 1 trials should shoot this into the dollar+ range.
