The point I failed to make

Given the appointment of Nancy Lampton and her ties to the industry including power companies that run existing reactors, and all the increased attention given to US oil dependence, national security, international desire for nuclear power and everyone's fear that that will lead to nuclear weapons, the timing is right to accelerate the use of Thorium and replace the use of Uranium while at the same time dispose of existing dangerous material by making electricity with it.

I agree, the article itself didn't say anything new, and recycled old news about renewable fuel. Maybe the president will mention Thorium tomorrow, or maybe Jack Bauer will "put a bug in his ear."
