What a great tune to have on one's mind so early in the morning......Allow me to look back a year or 2, well maybe 70+ years. This tune this morning made me think on my grandma out in a little town, Peru, Ind., and her "LITTLE" ole country church...an old wooden building with just 1 room. There was wire stretched across the ceiling from left to right and material was attached which divided the main room into 4 or 6 rooms for Sunday school classes. Back then it was perfectly OK for a person to just stand up and offer a testimony, perfectly OK for a person to say AMEN during a sermon----OH!!! How my church has changed. But this morning the below old tune popped into my mind and I went way back in years, I can remember the ole preacher stopping the music to offer the invitation to come to Christ....Should today in the modern Methodist Church this occur, I am sure someone would call the men in the little white coats to come and take us away. I am not in any way saying church is bad, but how it has changed over the years, almost all is human efforts and Jesus you just sit over there and be quite---our preachers are highly educated, our music directors are professionals, our S.S. teacher have steps to follow and speak, things do change and often that is a really good thing.....NOW!!! NO !!! I am not loosing my mind, I am not living in yester-year, it was this old song that brought back memories of the Christ filled church and the sad thought of how many people today do not and may not ever experience----JESUS TENDERLY CALLING------Maybe, take a moment and read the lyrics to this old beautiful song

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See, on the portals He's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies
Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing
Passing from you and from me
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming
Coming for you and for me

O for the wonderful love He has promised
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me

Come home, come home
You who are weary, come home
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
Calling, O sinner, come home!
