MMs have to cover their shorts by tomorrow's mid-month deadline (the 15th), so it's in their interests to stifle too much upward price movement until after tomorrow.

New long-term bull market from Oct. 16, 2008 (+6 months for
underbubble overreaction) to Feb. 5, 2018 (+6 months for overbubble
overreaction). Dow tops out at about 26,500 resistance, then goes generally down for ~9 years. IMHO.
