Appears my troubles were of my own making.
Here is the info I received from DSC for those who may be having trouble or new to buying Crypto like myself.
The reason you have an issue is because you have made multiple verifications, the last on the 10th. We have gone in and approved your newest update.
1. Please logout and log back in.
2. clear your browser cache
In terms of your other questions:
You have to go through the Discovery Mineral Coin site to purchase Discovery Mineral Coin (DSC). You have to use a Credit Card with 3DS that is accepted by your credit card company and bank. You then have to send it to your wallet. The type of wallet needed is an ERC-20 wallet.

Any wallet service or hardware cold storage wallets that allow ERC-20 are fine. We do not and cannot make specific recommendations or take responsibility for customers decisions on their choice of wallets.

Please go to the support area for the wallet you choose on their site and verify that they support ERC-20 Tokens.
